Water polo originated as a form of rugby football played in rivers and lakes in England and Scotland, probably from the 1850s onwards. In 1900, the sport of water polo was added at the Paris Olympics – the first team sport to be added.
The five toughest sports are considered to be the decathlon, marathon, boxing, water polo, and rowing.
